Description: HTF! Antique Homer Laughlin Empress Small Jug / Creamer Unique Purple Well Spring along River with Church in background Decal Beautiful and stunning Homer Laughlin Empress small jug / milk pitcher / creamer with very unique decal scene on it and top edge gold rim - hard to find shape and decal from 1924. The creamer is a flatter and wider piece, this is the smallest 6s jug from the empress line and is harder to find than creamers, though this could definitely be used as a creamer or fun home decor piece! Empress was made by Homer Laughlin as early as 1913 and was a sharp contrast to the more ornate shapes of The Angelus and Hudson. While the line as a whole was not produced much longer after 1940, the flatware would go on to be used with several other lines such as the underglaze prints. Most Empress is marked with a generic HLC backstamp and date code. Condition: Very good preowned vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Some light under the glaze crazing, typical of antique pottery. Some fading to gold trim, decal remains bright. Piece may have some small factory production imperfections such as sand bumps, glaze pops, glaze skips, etc. Little to no issues with this beautiful piece. Please see photos for details.
