Description: Very Nice, Hard-to-Find, Copy of the Elson Basic Reader Pre-Primer. Published by Scott, Foresman & Company, 1930. 308.2 on Copyright Page. Softcover, 40 Pages. First Edition, but likely 2nd Printing, as there was a previous known publication with the code “307.1” which would have presumable preceded this “308.2” (any information which would clarify this would be greatly appreciated). This was the first appearance of Dick & Jane, created by Zerna Sharp, which became the mainstay series in teaching Elementary School Children to read in the mid-20th century. The Reader is in fine condition. Pages are clean, without markings and no tears or stains. There is some corner bumping to the bottom edges on a few of the beginning pages The Softcover is in good condition just showing some minor edge wear, mostly noticeable by the spine, and some creasing along the bottom right corner. There is black streak along the back which I believe may have occurred during its printing – i.e. splash of ink.
