Description: Up for sale is the once in a lifetime opportunity to own a pair of Klipsch Golden Jubilees! There are only two pairs that exist. Paul Klipsch’s wife Valerie Klipsch had these commissioned to be built, and donated one pair to the Paul W. Klipsch Museum in New Mexico, and gifted the other pair to the co-author of Paul’s biography, and that is this pair. This pair was then sold to W.C. Fischer who owned a Klipsch showroom and repair shop in South Carolina, and I bought them from his estate. This will very likely be the only time these ever come up for sale. These speakers were built by Mike Faulkner, commissioned by Valerie Klipsch after PWK’s death. Valerie commissioned Mike to make 2 pairs based on Paul’s Jubilee design. The original owner reworked the crossovers and hired the wood and horn master Bill Martinelli to make the horns. Essentially these are the prototypes of what would become the Jubilee. The last picture on my listing shows the only other pair, in the Paul W. Klipsch Museum, in New Mexico, along with a letter that reads: “Klipsch Jubilee - Paul Klipsch's ever-pressing goal in life was to create a full- range, horn-loaded, two-way loudspeaker. In 1998, at age 94, Paul's final design was completed. This also marked 50 years since the first Klipschorn was released to the public, thus the name Jubilee. The Jubilee was never produced, as Paul Klipsch sold the company soon after the original prototype was constructed. Valerie Klipsch later commissioned the building of three additional Jubilees. The pair on display here are one of two sets in existence.” About the speakers: The Low Frequency cabinets have beautiful figured oak front panels and removable tops, with black sides. They include two pairs of horns and drivers. One is a pair of Martinelli horns with a beautiful flame maple finish, and Beyma CP-750ND drivers. Also included are a pair of the original black Jubilee horns with TAD TD-4002 drivers. They have passive crossovers, with Alpha Core inductors. Everything is the same dimensions on the cabinets as a standard pair of Jubilees. Each LF cabinet weighs around 350lbs. These are phenomenal speakers! They truly are a piece of audio history.
