History of the airplane:The 13th Bomb Squadron “The Devil’s Own Grim Reapers” insignia dates back to the 13th Aero Squadron of WWI. The insignia was named “Oscar, the Devel's Own Grim Reaper” yes Devel. The 3rd Bombardment Wing was stationed in Japan after WWII and received the A-26B models in 1945. When the Korean War began the 13th BS was one of the first units to see action and recorded the first U.S. air unit casualties. The 3rd BW conducted the last bombing mission just minutes before a truce began.
