Description: "Unique, HO gauge Engine and REA sound car". The engine is brass manufactured by "United" for "Pacific Fast Mail", and is a Santa Fe 4-8-4 Oil Burner, Cab number 3783. Custom painted and weathered, with Lenz DCC Decoder L-LE1025XF, engineer and fireman, directional headlight, & Kadee couplers. Steam engine sounds (DCC) by Soundtraxx decoder S-820001 DSD-100LC Steam, installed in a Roundhouse 50' Railway Express Car behind the engine. This engine is a beauty, and has only a few hours use, as I entered into 2 Rail O Scale in 1993. It was brought out of storage, adapted for DCC (Lenz decoder and Soundtraxx Steam sounds, exhaust, bell, whistle, pumps etc.) in Jan 2002, for a one-day club annual public display with other member's engines. Soon after, I moved, and the engine has been stored since, terminating all further HO activity, and back to O scale. At age 85 I am liquidating all HO gauge trains. The engine was inspected (gear is not worn), lubricated and a fresh new neoprene shaft connector was installed and tested. Engine crawls forward and backward slowly from start with sound functions. Sound effects were set for this engine by installer in 2002 but can be re-mapped per Soundtraxx User Manual*** using DCC controllers. This engine is more expensive than others for several reasons: It is highly detailed brass, it was custom painted and weathered by a pro for several hundred dollars, it has added Kadee couplers, engineer and fireman and has been equipped with a Lenz decoder by a professional service. The service also modified a Roundhouse 50 Ft Railway Express Car with a Soundtraxx steam sound decoder and that is pin connected by two flexible wires from the back of the tender. The work is already done, just pin the two wires between cab and tender and the two wires between the tender and REA sound car! The engine and sound car will be shipped USPS. The insurance included in shipping is for $100. If you want to insure for the full value, let me know BEFORE purchase so I can adjust shipping by $20.40 additional.***A 40-page manual can be downloaded from Soundtraxx.com called "Soundtraxx DCC LC Series Digital Sound Decoder Manual". There are choices of function such as whistles, volume control, and the CV codes. However, I believe the engine is set fine as is, but I like having the manual, so I downloaded it and could forward to the buyer.
