Description: Antique Teapot MacDonnaugh's Victory This historic piece was made to commemorate Commodore MacDonnoughs Victory. Teapot c 1820. Fine antique early 19th century dark blue Historical Staffordshire teapot decorated in the Commodore MacDonnough's Victory pattern, commemorating the American victory on Lake Champlain in the War of 1812. The maker is Enoch Wood & Sons. The pattern is one of a series of American views with an Irregular Shell Border. The high parapet collar was the fashionable shape for teapots circa 1820. No maker's mark. The large teapot is 7 1/2 inches tall by 10 1/2 inches wide from spout to handle. Extraordinary example Early 19th Century. Approx. 8"H X 12"W Condition: Hairlines and cracking to sides, chipping to interior rim, minor rubs to handle, minor imperfections to be expected.
