Description: The magazine that featured marijuana as its main subject called 'High Times' began its half century run FIFTY years ago, in June of '74. Hard to believe it's been that long. The person who created and founded 'HT' was a marijuana reform advocate until his death in '78. (Tom Forade took his own life.) I wish he could still be here to see how important his magazine has been for the legalization and reform movement, and how it's grown and progressed through FIVE decades... By the mid to late '70s, 'High Times' was already making a name for themselves. Today we feature a SIX piece bundle, with magazines that feature a celebrity on the cover, as the celebrity cover issues became the most sought-after. We go as far back as the 90s, and most of these stars actually posed for their cover shots. Bob Marley, of course, did not get photographed for this issue. It's a memorial to that legendary reggae star. The rest are musicians, comedians, a duo of comedians/musicians, and a movie director! We start with the July 1992 issue, and the Black Crowes are on the cover, with a really cool article about them on the inside. The blues rock band was just starting to become popular, and they released several great albums in the 90s! The insides are complete, with no pages rip or torn, or pages dog-eared or handwritten on. Cover has a tiny bit of wear, but nothing too bad. Next up is Angelo Moore, from the funk/punk/R&B/hard rock/ska/alternative band Fishbone. Dr. Madd Vibe (Moore) is on the cover of the July 1994 issue, which recently turned THIRTY year old! He's smoking it up, and getting ready to jam with his sax. Insides are complete, and look great. Cover has a tiny bit of wear, mainly on the spine. Marley is also smokin' it up on the March 1995 issue's cover. There's some really interesting stuff inside about him. Titled 'the Legend and Legacy'. If you're a fan, you'll love this issue! Insides look great, with only a tiny bit of wear on the cover. In February of '98, comedy genius George Carlin made the cover of the 'pot comedy special'! There's also articles about Dave Chappelle and even Tommy Chong of the Cheech and Chong comedy duo. In really good condition, with a little normal wear. Tenacious D is on the cover of the Aug 2002 issue. Kyle Gass looks the same, as he always does, but Jack Black looks so young! It WAS over twenty years ago, so...the issue has a little normal wear, but nothing bad. Overall in great shape! And we end with legendary director Oliver Stone on the cover of the August 2012 issue. Smoking a blunt! The insides look great, but the cover has heavy wear on the spine. Like almost off the staples. Nothing a little creativity can't fix (I'll leave that to the buyer). Six issues, seven different celebrities (Tenacious D counts as two! Lol), and going back a few years with this bundle! 'High Times' was always on the front-line of both legalization and the reform of marijuana laws. They always have grow tips, fun stuff to read, cool ads for seeds and whatnot, and great pics!
