Kroydon irons are usually topped with a screw-type butt cap, patented by the firm in 1925, with a hole in the middle exposing the wood shaft. They were oe of the earliest companies to produce matched sets of woods with symbols as brass sole inlays differentiating the clubs: star for driver, heart for brassie and cross for spoon. One occasionally comes across Kroydon irons with waffle-iron faces, or wavy ball pattern at the sweetspot, (attempts to put more backspin on the ball) which were outlawed in 1922. Another "illegal" club from Kroydon is the S33 adjustable putter. We list new items every day from our large collection of quality golf and sports memorabilia.
