Description: Rare circa 1882-1900 "Our Very Best" small Hunting Bowie made in England by the famous Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett & Co. This attractive OVB Bowie is about 8-3/4" / 22.2 cm overall; blued blade is about 5” / 12.7 cm long; original dark-gray patina throughout; solid full-tang construction; all parts are tight. The blade has been lightly re-sharpened, the edge is razor-sharp still; no edge nicks or dings on the spine, the tip is intact. Original gigged bone handle scales and German silver the cross guard; the scales are in great shape - no cracks, chips, or repairs; all parts are tight. Original sheath has been reinforced with copper rivets; the leather is a bit dry but intact.
