You may bid / buy any number, up to the total quantity available above. These were purchased at an industrial liquidation earlier this year, and they were brand new in an unmarked box. We don't know what would be the 'highest and best use' for them. Not sure how these would work for heating a car or motorcycle seat in the wintertime. We had a bunch of pads similar to these several years ago, and they sold like hot cakes for that purpose. As always, however, you should know what you're doing -- and perform extensive testing -- before plopping your privates down on something electrical! I know what you're about to ask: "How hot do they get?" Well, our engineering department (just one guy who likes to experiment) connected the leads to a 12V battery charger. Within two or three minutes, the element was toasty warm. An hour later, it was still toasty warm. You could hold the palm of your hand on it without actually scalding, but it was hot enough to make you wonder for a few seconds. Our testing was done with the element simply laying on a piece of cardboard in open air. Naturally, if you were to cover it with some kind of padding, it would prevent convective heat loss, and would probably make it get much hotter. A thermostat might be required in such instances. These handy elements have all sorts of possibilities, but again, you're responsible for how you use them. We don't want to hear about any disasters. Such as, "My car seat burst into flames on the interstate, and I had to jump out in the middle of traffic! Or, "I thought my wife was cooking chicken, but it turns out the pad overheated and fried the kittens!" Or, "My girlfriend has a square tattoo on her butt! What are you going to do about it?!?"
