Description: Five unused postcards of famous Native Americans. Embossed and apparently from a significant series. All are copyright 1908 and published by H.H. Tammen in Denver. The artist is L. Peterson. There is a series number with each one and the postcards are embossed. The H.H. Tammen Archives is housed in the Stephen Hart Research Center in Denver Colorado. Harry Heye Tammen (1856-1924) was the largest postcard publisher in Colorado and had a major influence in many areas (including owning the Dever Post). The Native Americans featured on the five cards I have (found in my grandparents house): Starlight (3425)Chief High Horse (3424)Chief Eagle Feather (3423)Chief Geronomo (3421)Chief Sitting Bull (3420) The cards were probably printed around the copyright date as they say on the back they need a one cent stamp. I’d call these used condition but they are unmarked and have been sitting in a box untouched for years (and years).
