The history of the bird pattern was created in 1860 for the Rothschild banking family, depicting the famous story of the Baroness losing a necklace in her garden. The jewelry was retrieved by a gardener who saw birds playing with it in a tree. The pattern is considered one of the finest examples of hand painting on fine bone china and is still handmade today.
