Description: "Hell, I Was There": Elmer Keith, His Life Story Hardcover – January 1, 1979 by Elmer Keith (Author) This is a revised edition of his first autobiography of Elmer Merrifield Keith, and differs from the original as it came from a manuscript from unedited tapes dictated by Elmer in his Salmon Idaho home in 1972. This version has 30,000 more words, not so much different stories but stories in more detail and in a more casual detailing story telling tone, as Elmer finally let someone else do the typing and he just did the story telling, this edition has more photos present as well. A large print book about the life of Elmer Keith who was an American rancher, firearms enthusiast, and author. Keith was instrumental in the development of the first magnum revolver cartridge, the .357 Magnum, as well as the later .44 Magnum and .41 Magnum cartridges. He shares hunting stories from all around the world. This Harback book has the dust cover present with minor nicks present, the binding of book is excellent, it is slightly discolored as most are from age, and is signed by Elmer and made out to the previous owner, dated, in Salmon Idaho. It also has a sticker to the previous owner’s personal library added to the front page. Great book for those gun slingers collection.
