Description: This is a rare four-page advertising herald (flyer) promoting the Post-Broadway engagement of the MAXWELL ANDERSON play "MARY OF SCOTLAND" at the Majestic Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas for two performances only on April 13th, 1935. (The production opened November 27th, 1933 at the Alvin Theatre in New York City and ran for 248 performances before going on the road.) ..... The play starred HELEN HAYES, PHILIP MERIVALE and PAULINE FREDERICK ..... CREDITS: Book by MAXWELL ANDERSON; Sets and Costumes designed by ROBERT EDMOND JONES; Directed by THERESA HELBURN; Produced by THE THEATRE GUILD ..... DETAILS: Advertising handbills and heralds were distributed or inserted into the playbills of other productions to help generate ticket sales for upcoming shows and events. This four page herald measures 6" X 8 3/4" inches and includes excerpts from a number of reviews and two production photos on the inside pages and promotional text and a photo of the playwright on the backside ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a small nick at the top seam and a fold across the middle, this rare flyer is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
