Description: Up for sale is a Hein Gericke Dakar Leather Jacket Size 42 Reg.This is a first generation production around 1980's. (D Ring belt loops) It's a beautiful coat with normal wear for its age. (Nice patina with light scattered scuffs.)Heavy weight leather. (5.5 lbs worth) The snap-in liner is included. I'm 5"10 @ 178lbs and it fits firm with room to move when liner is installed. (Without liner installed it is a perfect fit)The belt will adjust the tightness around the waist. Awesome inside left pocket with snap for carry. (I personally wore another of this same version for over over twenty years and put it through a lot of abuse before I outgrew the size.I passed it on to a friend and he still wears it today. The coat is a beast and built like a tank) It does have some wear in certain areas that could be fixed if wanted. (See Pics) The inside collar liner is worn and new piece of material can easily be sewn in place.A few emblem pin holes on the pocket and neck outside collar.One tear/rip on the inside liner that can also be sewn. Overall, its a great coat and will last another 40 years. Jacket features include: full length snap-shut exterior wind flap to keep cold air from intruding through the zipper on cold days, double snap-shut collar, 2 exterior extra-large snap-shut front pockets, 2 snap-shut lined hand warmer pockets, 2 three-quarter circumference armpit vents with perforated leather which keeps plenty of air coming through the jacket in the summer while still providing full leather protection, snap-shut/zip-shut sleeve cuffs, full heavy duty zipper, double-leather shoulder and elbows. This jacket retailed for $875 or more and cannot now be found in stores.
