About the artist: Hasegawa Sadanobu III (1881-1963) was born in Osaka, Japan to a family of Ukiyo-e artists. He practiced a kind of colorful shin hanga style and was best known for his prints showing images of maiko or young apprentice geishas. Sadanobu also chose subjects of the traditional ukiyo-e and put them into a modern form of his own. He was a pupil of Shijo painter Ueda Kocho. Image size: 9 3/4 x 14 1/2 inches. The print has its original gold frame with glass and yellow matting. The Uchida label is on the reverse. The frame measures 17 x 21 inches.
