Description: Hasegawa HAS-07243 (PT43) 1/48 TA-4J Skyhawk - U.S. Shipping The A-4 Skyhawk is a small carrier-based attack aircraft developed as a successor to the reciprocating carrier-based attack aircraft A-1 Skyraider. The prototype XA4D-1 first flew on June 22, 1954, and for more than 20 years since then, it has been active as the main carrier-based attack aircraft of the US Navy/Marine Corps. Although it is small and light, it can be equipped with a large number of various weapons, and various types are born by upgrading the engine power and modernizing various equipment. A total of 2960 aircraft were produced before production ceased in February 1979. The TA-4E is a double-seat fighter training aircraft with a J52-P-8A engine and an extended fuselage from the A-4E with rear seats. The production type of the prototype TA-4E is the TA-4F, and the AN/APG-53 radar scope that was equipped in the front seats is also installed in the rear seats, so that the trainee can use the radar in both the front and rear seats.
