It was the longest-running aviation comic strip. Mosley, who also designed posters, insignias and program covers for flying events, started taking flying lessons in 1932 and became a licensed pilot in 1936 (he owned nine airplanes logging over 3,000 hours). Mosley was one of the founders of the Civil Air Patrol. In 1976, he was inducted into the Civil Air Patrol Auxiliary-USAF Hall of Honor.
