Parchment compartment with threaded brass stopper. A removable steel pin located at the bottom prevents the brass plug from unscrewing when the mezuzah is attached to a door frame or other surface. Please look and inspect all the photos. Mezuzah comes with Scroll/Parchment/Klaf. No maker and country of origin marks. The mezuzah case probably made in the United States, ca1920s.-1940s.
