Description: Offered for sale is a stoneware foot warmer in ovoid form, hand-turned in the second half of the 19th century. It is covered in a light grayish slip with a single incised ring at the narrower end as its sole decoration. Of interest is its back/bottom on which the slip had not completely covered the ware before being fired, resulting in a pattern of agglutinated slip over partially unglazed body clay. The filling hole would be stoppered by a cork (now having fallen inside). The foot warmer is 12 inches long and 6 inches at its widest point. Shipping is by USPS parcel rate, and there is no handling charge. I invite you to view other items I have listed. Thanks for looking, and enjoy the hunt.
