Description: This is a crudely constructed, hand made, brown glazed pottery cookie jar. Viewing the bottom, it appears it has been constructed using the coil method of pottery. It is 11" tall with the lid in place and approximately 8 1/2" diameter. Around the widest portion, there are raised repeating figures of a cat, a mouse/rat or kangaroo, and 3 children. We do not know the inspiration behind this piece nor do we know the age. It is not signed. Perhaps there is a nursery rhyme theme...? It is a one-of-a-kind piece.Pre-owned. Crudely made with uneven glazing. The lid does not fit the opening very well. Remnants of glued padding are present on the bottom. It was removed to see if the piece was signed.
