Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A very nice high quality antique map. Please see photos to appreciate the beauty and condition of this piece. This is truly a nice decorative piece ready for framing to eventually hang on your wall or add to your collection. Condition: The map is in relatively good condition with foxing, stains and general darkening along the edges. It has several tears along the edges none of which reaches the map itself. There is also quite a bit of losses along the right edge, which can be seen in the photo with some of these losses reaching the edge of the map and one crossing within the framing of the map itself. It is important to note that none of the tears reach the map itself. The paper of the map is brittle and as such the edges and corners break-off easily of the map is miss handles. In addition, the map has nicks and losses along the edges of the sheet as well as minor losses at the corners all of which can be seen in the photos. None of the tears crosses the border and extends into the map. The map also has holes along the right edge where the thread used to bind it into the atlas were. Be that as it may, the map itself is intact and none of the issues outlined here distract from its quality or beauty. The map still has vivid and fresh colors and would look great once properly mounted and framed. Please view photos for additional condition information.
