Description: Here's a beautiful hand-colored map of New York City and Yonkers showing the location of Jerome Park Racetrack, which at the time was home to the Belmont Stakes. This is not dated but is likely from the 1870s (the track opened in 1866 and was annexed by the city of New York in 1874). This is printed on nice, thick paper stock and measures about 17.5"x27". If you wanted to frame this it would look amazing. It has a bit of toning and wear around the edges but overall retains its beautiful color and has no creases or tears. This could very well be the only example of this map that exists. Shipping is $19.95 and this will be shipped flat. Please review the photos and use the magnify feature to review the condition. Please see our other auctions for an extensive collection of historic horse racing programs, Daily Racing Forms, trophies and memorabilia featuring horses like Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Dr. Fager, Damascus, Round Table, Dan Patch, Buckpasser, Kelso and other champions and Kentucky Derby winners. We will be selling off most of our collection over the next couple months.
