Description: Offered is a beautiful Hampshire Pottery vase with an amazing mottled and textured blue glaze simliar to the "alligator" glaze seen on some rather rare examples of Hampshire Pottery. Made by the Hampshire Pottery in Keene New Hampshire, this vase is 7.5" tall, 6.75" in diameter and weighs 3 lb. 2 oz. The opening at the top is 3.75" in diameter and is in perfect condition.This vase is in exceptional condition over all but under 10X magnification I was able to detect several intersecting hair-line surface cracks near the lower third of the vase and one that extends slightly into the base. They are barely detectable and do not penetrate the vase which is solid and still rings nicely. The tiny cracks I describe proved too small to photograph very well and although they do not detract from the beauty or integrity of the piece they must be considered. In the beautiful condition seen with the imperfections or damage clearly described and shown in the photos.
