The BARNEY GOOGLE character is rarely seen these days and some papers carry this strip as SNUFFY SMITH. The strip was created by Billy DeBeck and upon his death in 1942, his assistant Fred Lasswell took charge and worked the strip until his death, in 2001. The strip is currently drawn by John R.
