Description: So as not to have the "Patina Boys" yell at me, I have done very little to this plane. I dusted off the body and applied two coats of bowling alley wax for a good ride. The back of the blade was not flat and required lapping which is the proper way to sharpen this type of blade. The bevel, which is not usually sharpened, had a little rust which I polished off. Don't worry, the factory tool marks are still visible and the size stamp (18) is legible. I tested it out on a piece of cherry and it works as it should. NOTE: Almost all other plane available on this site do not have blades which have been lapped flat. This one is ready to use or put in your collection.
