Description: Roy F. Dunlap was an gun expert who served as an armorer during World War II. He took his expertise and experience and parlayed them into a long career as a professional gunsmith. He did not do a lot of writing, but this text, Gunsmithing, is widely considered a bible of the vocation. The book was originally published in 1950 by Stackpole Books; a second edition was issued in 1963. Both editions have remained in print through various outlets, including a leather-bound NRA edition. through at least 2012. The book is written "for amateur and professional gunsmiths and users of modern firearms." This is a copy of the 1963 second edition. It is either an early or a first printing of that edition, though no printing information is listed and I can't find any points. It's in very good shape for its age, and would make a great gift for any gun enthusiast. Here are the condition notes: Dust jacket is present but in rough condition with a large tear across the back cover. Flaps are intact. Price is not clipped. Green cloth boards are in good condition with minor edge wear and some fading along the top edge. Interior: binding is tight and fully intact. FFEP has a name/address sticker and a handwritten date (10-12-66). Interior is otherwise clean and unmarked with white-to-off-white pages.
