Description: Selling one of my “never sell” guitars. 1972 country gentleman that I bought to channel my inner Neil Young/George Harrison. Overall the guitar is in very good shape for its age. I’m not sure the exact year where the infamous Gretsch binding rot problems subside, but binding on this is in good shape and shows no such signs (the neck binding has suffered from commonplace cracking and has been stabilized). Has the normal play wear you would expect of a guitar this age but no egregious damage. bigsby and other hardware shows it’s age. Plays well with nice action and room to come down on the saddle. Tuning stability when using the bigsby is “decent” but not full proof, as to be expected with any vintage gretsch. Electronics all function well and pickups sound great. Bridge and back neck plate have been replaced (originals included, although neck plate is badly cracked). New bridge has been glued in place, no longer floating. Also missing one of the toggle switch tips. Includes original case candy and some goodies. Case itself shows a good amount of wear, with hinges being particularly oxidized.
