Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a very old Bb soprano clarinet mouthpiece that is made of grenadilla wood. I would say this is beyond just 'vintage'. It is more in the realm of 'antique'. I would guess that it dates to the late 1800's or very early 1900's. That is when wood mouthpieces were still in common use. By the 1920's they had pretty much been phased out. There is no brand name, nor any other markings on this mouthpiece. The tip opening is very small. It measures just .7mm. It would be difficult for most contemporary players to play on such a tight facing, but it could always be refaced to a larger opening. This mouthpiece is in very good condition considering its age. There are no cracks or chips. The facing is perfectly smooth. There is some light tooth wear on the beak and scratching on the exterior.
