" & " Supervillains ! " on many of their Backstage Passes for this '95 Touring Year ! Pretty exciting, right ? And it even gets better - as this one here for the Very-Rare G.D. Tour stop in Alabama ! features none other than the Comics-Fan favorite " Doctor Strange !!! ". Or, as I should properly say ... Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange !!! ... the " Primary Protector of Earth ! " - against ' All ' Magical & Mystical Threats !! Wow ! ... but wait ? I thought it was the Good Ol' Grateful Dead! that did that ?!! Hah ! No, but - with all seriousness here - Good Ol' Doctor Strange ! was & is one of the Coolest ! of Cool Marvel Comics Super Heroes !!! In his Past-Life - he was actually a Neurosurgeon Doctor ... and later served as the Sorcerer Supreme !! His 1st Debut was in the Early 1960's - better known as the " Silver Age " of Comics ! And, due to the well-earned Popularity ! of Dr. Strange, over the past multiple decades, he has appears in & on TV Shows, Video Games, Trading Cards ... and, also -- on a Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ! Which, at least to me ... Has ! to be the Coolest !! Seriously, I mean what a Classic ! here Fans - as Dr. Strange earned this Fancy spot ! And at the 4/28/80 Show the Dead opened up the Show with ' Alabama Getaway !! ' - and, it was actually " The " Exact-Same-Day that ' Go To Heaven ' was released ! In fact too, the Grateful Dead only ever played Five ( 5 ) Shows Total ! in Alabama ... with these '95 Spring Tour Shows being two ( 2 ) of those five ( 5 ) ! Pretty wild ... right ? Wild ... & Rare !! 1977, 1978 & 1980 were the only other years that the Band touched down in Alabama for some Live Grateful Dead action ! And as for this 4/4/1995 Show ? ... well, it was indeed the 1st Night of the Last/Final Grateful Dead stand in Alabama ! ... ' Ever !! '. And ... it was indeed a Way-Nice ! one too - opening up with a Feel Like a ' Strange~r ! ' ( Ha ! ) - Yes !! ... as you-bet Doctor Strange dug that one ...
