I've often wondered if this one was perhaps ' inspired ' by Jerry's " Old & In The Way " days ... seeing as how Garcia - Grisman - Rowan & Kahn liked to call Vasser Clements " Clamp ! " ... because he liked to smoke his pipe ! Lucky me actually got to talk to Vasser one time at the Wow Hall in Eugene, Oregon back in '97 at after a Show ( on his 70th Birthday ! ) ... and you betcha - Vasser was " Clampin' " while we we're chatting ! Totally the nicest guy - and my goodness could that guy work Magic ! on that Fiddle !! But, in fact ( and ... in Hilarious ! fact ) this is actually a Jerry Garcia Sketch / Drawing of his very-own Grateful Dead Drummer !! ... Mickey Hart !!! As the Dead actually used a few designs that Garcia drew of the Band Members ... Mickey ( right-here ! ) - and one of Billy & Bobby as well ! Pretty-awesome ...
