Obviously, this was a " Deadheads Dream ! " type Box Set - for the Beyond-Special occasion ... of 50-Years Upon Our Heads ! Fantastic, to say the least ... Wow !!! The Last-Night of a 3-Show run ( February 19-20-21, 1995 ) at the Delta Center ! ... the Proud-Home of the Utah Jazz ! As I sure do hope that Stockton, Malone, Hornacek ( & Ostertag too ! ) were all there to Greet Jerry ! & The Boys ( maybe Walton got'em Backstage Passes ?!? - Ha ! ). This was actually the ' First ' and the ' Last ' Grateful Dead Show stand at the Delta Center - as it was nice & new at the time, with '95 actually marking the first-time the Dead were able to play there ( much like they were also supposed to do in the Rose Garden - in Portland, OR on the next-scheduled Tour ! ). Woulda, coulda, shoulda ... as no one was ready for what was to ultimately come for everyone - with Jerry's passing in August '95. But, as history was written - the " Utahns ! " were treated to the brand new & fancy ! ( & indoor ! ... obviously ) " Delta Center " ( billed tongue-and-cheek as " The Cleanest Arena In The Country ! " ). While in the Rose City, the Oregonians had to instead settle for the Good Ol' Portland Meadows Dirt-Track ! ( ouch. ). This 3-Show " Utah Dead ! " run was a real big deal too when it happened, since up until this point ( in Feb. '95 ) the Grateful Dead had only ever played 6-Shows " Ever ! " in All of Utah ! - dating all the way back to 1969 !. Because when the " 30 Trips Around The Sun " 1965-1995 release came out ( in 2015 ), I got right around to guessing about pretty much every-single-one of these Dead-Years - and what would be " Picked ! " ( as far as what was already issued-prior, and such ). But, I found " 1995 " real-interesting because there were just a few " Perfect " ( or, you know, as close to perfect - as possible ) Show-Picks for '95 ... which made it Real-Tough ! to figure out which Show it would finally be ?? Personally, I guessed either 2/21/95 Salt Lake City - 2/24/95 Oakland - 3/18/95 Philly - 5/26/95 Seattle. And, while I decided on the Seattle Show ( the Seattle-Spacey-Smoker ! ) initially - I quickly realized that it happened to be the only-one of these 4-Shows that did-not-have ... the " Visions Of Johanna !!!!! ". Which, was such an Incredible !! Deadhead-Treat ! in '95 when Jerry kicked That ! down for us ( " WoW !!! " ). So, I figured it almost ' had ' to be this 2/21/95 Salt Lake Show - because not only did This-Show deliver the 1st ! " Visions !!! " - since 1986 at the B.C.T. ! ( 4/22/86 ) - but ... it also Amazingly ! offered the 1st ! " I Just Wanna Make Love To You !!! " - the 1st since 1984 ! ( back east at the Mass. Centrum on 10/8/84 ! ). And ... not to mention -- you've got the 1st-Ever ! " Salt Lake City !!! " ( by the Grateful Dead ! ) to actually ' Open ' This ! " Salt Lake City Show !!!
