Description: For sale today is the rare and out-of-print (oop) Dark Horse Comics graphic novel Grandville Mon Amour (A Detective-Inspector LeBrock of Scotland Yard Scientific Romance Thriller) by Bryan Talbot, published in 2010. Convicted psychotic killer and extremist fanatic Edward "Mad Dog" Mastock violently escapes the guillotine's blade in the Tower of London to once again terrorize the Socialist Republic of Britain. But dogging Mastock's bloody footsteps is his longtime adversary and nemesis, Detective Inspector Archie LeBrock, at odds with Scotland Yard and intent on bringing Mastock's horrific murder spree to an end, once and for all. Aided by his friend and colleague Detective Roderick Ratzi, LeBrock follows the trail of carnage to Paris, otherwise known as Grandville, the largest city in a world dominated by the French Empire and the prime target of Mastock's sadistic terrorism. Can LeBrock capture the Mad Dog before he can mete out his final vengeance, or will LeBrock's own quest for redemption be dragged to ground by the demons of his past? The badger is back! Set three weeks after the finale of Grandville - Bryan Talbot's critically acclaimed steampunk graphic novel-Grandville Mon Amour explores an alternate art-nouveau world populated by intelligent animals, a human underclass, robot automatons, and advanced steam technology that power everything from hansom cabs to iron flying machines. Grandville Mon Amour is the second in a planned series of Grandville graphic novels. The world of Grandville is described by Talbot as "like Jules Verne and Sherlock Holmes directed by Quentin Tarantino-with animals!" I am not a comics grader, but I try to be as thorough as possible when assessing books for any flaws. I don't believe in using a number grade system - to me they are mostly utilized as a method to be ambiguous about exact condition and/or individual imperfections - but I do attempt to describe anything other than minor cover shelf-scuffing/scratching in detail. If a certain flaw discussed below does not mention that it affects inside pages, then it does not. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This copy is in surprisingly very good overall condition, with excellent inside pages (photo#12 example). Its main flaws consist of/relate to its status as an ex-library book: it has library stickers on its lower spine corner, its back cover, and on the inside first (photo#11) and last cover pages. As for actual shelf-wear, it has few and lesser external signs. **Photo#3:-Spine edge: Some tiny color break along where it meets the front cover, 2 small ones where it meets back cover. **Photo#4: -Upper spine corner: Small but moderate scuffs where it meets each cover. **Photo#5: -Lower spine corner: Very light scuffing. **Photo#6: -Front cover top edge: Little if any shelf-wear.-Outer corner: Small scuff. **Photo#7:-Front cover bottom edge: Tiny scuff/very light ding towards the outer corner, otherwise little shelf-wear if any.-Outer corner: Tiny peel/scuff. **Photo#8: -Back cover top edge: Little if any shelf-wear.-Outer corner: Small scuff/peel/bend. **Photo#9:-Back cover bottom edge: Two tiny/light dings around its middle, a ~2" line of very light color breaking on the cover nearby the spine corner, otherwise edge itself has little shelf-wear if any.-Outer corner: Small indent/scuff around corner. **Additionally: Back cover possesses two light/very light ~5" vertical scuffs near its lower half/center (photo#10 w/illumination), and a small indent near its barcode sticker. Book has a very light page edge curl/bend. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I both buy to read as well as sell TPBs on here, so I understand how aggravating it is to receive a comic damaged in transit. I always pack books firmly between pieces of cardboard (among other materials/layers) via Gemini Comic mailers or bubble mailers depending on size; usually utilizing boxes for larger lots. If you have any questions or would like any additional photos, feel free to let me know. I'm always happy to combine shipping costs - either message me before completing purchase for a pre-payment price adjustment, or alternatively I can provide a refund afterwards. Thanks, and have a fantastic day!
