Modern machinery makes it possible to produce smooth fabric but that is NOT the style of this fabric. This fiber is woven to imitate vintage grain sacks which are unrefined with natural slubbing of fibers. These slubs are not a defect in the fabric and are not considered a fault - they are a part of the character of the fabric.*There are also ever so slight various colors embedded into the fiber that again enhances its uniqueness and farmhouse/vintage reproduction appeal.FABRIC CARE*This fabric washes up very well on gentle cycle and lay flat to dry.*You may use without laundering but then we recommend that you dry clean only to prevent shrinkage.*As with any primary cotton fabric, anticipate about 10% shrinkage when calculating your fabric needs.
