Gorgeous Signed A&S Attwood and Sawyer Necklace, Baguette & Pave' Diamante', 18"

Description: An Attwood and Sawyer gilt necklace set with diamante' in an unusual design. Circa 1980's. "Attwood and Sawyer" is one of the most famous costume jewelry brands in the United Kingdom. Horace Attwood established the company in Wales in 1956 and during its prime, it was producing costume jewelry for the glamorous stars on TV shows like "Dallas" and "Dynasty". They used Diamante' (clear rhinestones) a lot because they could easily pass for diamonds and were a stunning and affordable substitute to the real thing. This simply gorgeous necklace is testimony of the quality and craftsmanship of the brand. It has a beautiful pendant design with a multitude of diamante' stones. The chain is thick and heavy. It measures 18" in length and the drop is 2-1/4" with a good size teardrop diamante'. All the stones are there, nice and shiny. I believe this piece is gold filled or plated.
