Approximately 1/3 of an inch thick. In many descriptions of Msr. Chevallier (born 1892) pieces they are described as enameled ceramic featuring a cloisonné polychrome of flowers and arabesques in rose, red, yellow and gilt gold. In addition, Msr. Chevallier was fond of the Persian cloisonné style. Msr. Chevallier began as artist with Longwy Potteries in 1920. His final pieces date from around 1972 so it is believed he retired or passed away. He was elevated to director of art at Longwy in 1945. This wonderful piece was made around 1955. Please review all pictures before purchasing. It is important to see condition and the size of piece. I can send more pictures upon request. Condition: The overall piece is still beautiful to admire. There are several small spots of gilt lost along the gilt edges .
