Description: Gorgeous Antique Victorian Silver Plate on Copper Punch Bowl/Wine Cooler, c1860 These ornate bowls were once central to social gatherings for serving punch or would have been used to cool wine in a similar way to an ice bucket. They are exquisite examples of craftsmanship and have now become coveted collectibles and treasured antiques and are a wonderful insight into the Social History of the time. This exquisite pedestal punch bowl has beautiful hammered finish that contributes to its textured charm and aesthetic appeal. The bowl features twin lion mask and ring handles and applied with four George II halfpenny coins below the twisted rope rim. In good used antique condition, the bowl shows signs of use commensurate with age, and use, there is considerable wear to the silver plate with the warm copper below visible throughout. There are no dents etc, it displays beautifully. The bowl measures approx. 28.5cm at the widest point by 27cm by 20.5cm tall.
