I call it a soprano 12-string guitar. It looks and sounds like a mandolin, but the fingering and chords are the same as standard EADGBE (a G chord is still a G chord). The courses are octaves of the wound strings, not unison as on a mandolin.It's great for playing in a group, bringing a pitch and color to the blend that doesn't duplicate a second guitar.
