Cloth Hardcover with DJ (13.5x10.5”) 258 Pages, 2 pictures tipped-in; a total of 85 pictures, both b&w and color, some full page, some much smaller illustrations. The original price is embossed on the back cover upper left as “45р[ублей]” Text is in Russian; Large Print. The publisher’s text says this is Volume 2 of N.V. Gogol’s Collected Works in six volumes. This book is all in Russian, the artwork is wonderful. Thanks to internet translation, the book publication information can be shown also in English for this listing. Pictures of the Russian originals are followed by the internet translation into English. This is a large book. The binding is tight and pages are clean, but some yellowing from age is starting to appear. Boards are showing some darkening and a few stains, which you can see in the pictures. There is slight edge wear all around, and bump hints on the top corners, but covers are mostly sharp around the edges. The DJ is in only fair condition with pieces missing and edge wear/tears. The DJ is severely darkened with the spine now nearly unreadable. and the DJ flaps seemed to have darkened the inside of the covers somewhat. The front and back are still decipherable where the DJ was shielded by adjacent books. It does still function as a DJ. The last 5 pictures show different areas of the Dust Jacket.
