Description: This is an original a pair of OEM GM high performance cylinder heads for Small Block Chevy engines. The casting number on each head is 3782461. This casting is known as a “camel hump” or “camel back” head due to the double humps cast into the ends of the head. The camel hump heads were reserved for the higher performance Small Block Chevy engines. This particular head is set up with 2.02 inch intake and 1.60 inch exhaust valves which is what was used on the factory high performance applications including L79 327/350HP, 327/365HP, and 327/375HP fuelie applications. These heads have a casting dates of E 7 5 and E 8 5 which decode as May 7th and 8th, 1965. This is a real deal pair of 1965 dated camel hump heads. These heads are in good condition and were pulled off a good running engine. The owner was installing a supercharger on his engine and needed heads with a larger combustion chamber to lower the compression to handle the boost. The heads have been inspected for cracks and are guaranteed to be crack free. They are complete with stainless steel valves, springs, and retainers. The rocker studs are still the factory press in units as shown. The intake and exhaust ports are stock with light port matching at the very beginning of the intake ports as shown. The combustion chambers are stock with no deburring and all valves sit high in the seats. All threads are in good condition with a few professionally installed helicoils. I left these heads just as they were pulled on the engine so you can see how the chambers were burning, etc. I pulled a few valves to show the valve sizes as well as the seats. The guides on that cylinder have been replaced so I imagine they have all been done. The valve stem seals are the positive type as shown. These are simply very nice high performance heads that have survived the test of time. These heads are cores that have been in cool,dry storage for decades and should be rebuilt before use do to the long term storage. That said, many guys would likely clean these and use them as they are. These 3782461 heads are becoming very hard to find in any condition. Don't miss this very clean pair of OEM camel hump heads.
