This is a surface mount to be installed over the field tile (semi-flush) and not flush with it.There is about 3/8" overlay on the surrounding field tile. Depth needed for installation is 1/4 inch from finished surface. Projection from finished surface is 2-7/8 inches.Area for bar soap is 2-3/8" deep and 4" wide Make your field tile cut out 6-1/4" X 4-1/4" this leaves a little wiggle room.Note: Must use thinset adhesive on cement board for grab bar use.
