Description: This ladder-back rush-seat side-chair screams 'Italian'...because that is where it was handcrafted. The origin brand is an embossed stamp on the interior of the left rear leg, made visible by the non-original yellow paint that covers the original black lacquer. It is likely the person who owned the chair loved the style and appreciated it's comfort, but wanted to 'brighten' it up a bit. The yellow base paint with the floral accents are gay, but we don't think they are original, however, we could be incorrect. There are nicks and scrapes on this beauty and all of the normal wear you'd expect from such a piece, with nothing approaching abuse or neglect. The joints and slats are strong. Though quite the beauty just 'sitting there', this chair is ready to provide the service it was intended for when originally made. No pulls or defect on the rush seat. All, very well done. This chair has it all, right down to the taper-splayed feet and gum-drop toe. This chair is not heavy but it will require a parcel of substantial size. It likely will approach and/or pass what the major couriers define as 'Dimensional Weight', thus the cost to ship is not inexpensive. We will take great care in handling to ensure this chair arrives safely to it's next owner.
