Description: Here is a Gilbert Erector Set that is in very good condition. It comes in its original blue metal case that measures 22 1/4" x 13 1/4". The booklet with this set is from 1938 and is complete with a slight smell from storage (don't know if this book originally came with this set). The booklet shows pictures of the various items that can be made with sets from 1 up to 9 1/2. From research, I found that the distinctive blue box was made during the 1940s and I feel the size may be a No. 9 or 9 1/2. For a collector, the parts can be very easily cleaned and restored to near original condition. The box has storage wear mostly on the top and bottom, and also has paint loss in areas of the inside.
