Description: This is a scarce Gilbert "Big Boy" Tool Chest in a RARE MANDEVILLE & KING Co. Superior Flower Seed Box used in the transition to the wooden boxes. The cardboard "Gilbert Big Boy Tool Box sign was fitted OVER the Mandeville signage inside the lid with the model No. A! I have never seen another one like it. Likely it was a prototype taken home by a Gilbert employee for his kids tool set? The tools inside the box appear to be a mix of maybe Gilbert and other tools including a few of dad's tools. The blue tin box has a variety of old nails, etc.The wood box is in overall good condition with the typical shelf wear and scratches one would expect from a tool box.
