Description: For sale is a Japanese handcrafted hand painted signed mask of the renown Gigaku character Konron in good overall condition.Gofun is an oyster shell base paste that is spread over the Kanshitsu (a dry lacquer wood composite resin) to create the mask. The Konron mask has dust and perhaps a small chip(s), nick(s), mark(s), scuff(s), wear, etc. Please refer to the photographs. The Japanese mask artisan marked the paper in red on the back of the mask, but we are unable to read the calligraphy.The 1960s or 1970s Japanese Gigaku Konron mask was handcrafted, and hand painted to look very old and used.Please refer to the photographs to determine the mask's overall condition and the quality of the craftsmanship.The red demon Konron mask is about 27.5cm (10 13/16") long, 20cm (7 7/8") wide and weighs 720 grams.Please search "Gigaku Konron" for more information on the renown Japanese Gigaku character.
