Description: A 2 December 1922 cover from the Office of the Reichshaupt Bank, Lombard Office, for Bond Acceptance for War Tax to the Tax Treasury in Baden-Baden. This transmitted 125,321.25 Marks, which payed a portion of the war tax penalty charged to Germany after World War I. Cover was 187g and posted with 789m in stamps. Cover opened roughly on right end, which injured 2 of the 100m stamps. Various markings in pen and pencil on the front; very nice wax seals on the reverse. An interesting piece of postal history.
