German Shepherd Dog Cereal Card 1940s Kelloggs F273-6 USA Dog Breeds Card

Description: This colorful and informative card was issued by the KELLOGGS Company of the United States. as an insert premium in their brands of Kellogg’s Krumbles and Shredded Wheat cereal.. Although there is no know date for these cards I have always assumed that it must have been during the 1940's era, or possibly earlier. This card is from a series of 24 cards entitled, “ DOG PICTURES” and are designated as F273-6 in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue. The front of the card features a colorful illustration of the featured Dog breed done by the well know American illustrator Jack Murray. The back of the card provides a fair amount of detail about the breed. As well a list of all the dogs featured in the series and how to procure an album to keep all the cards in. This card features a GERMAN SHEPHERD The Card measures 4 1/2 inches by 2 7/8 inches approximately. The card is free from creases with relatively nice corner. I think it displays well. I have scanned the card fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself . This card would make an excellent gift or display piece for any owner, breeder, or enthusiast of this breed.
