Description: German Iron Cross 1939 2nd Class 1957 Bundeswehr reissue. Issued to qualifying Veterans of World War 2 who joined the new German Army from 1957 onwards. No symbols from the former regime appear on this cross. Of 3 piece construction with a magnetic core and non magnetic silver plated outer arms. Weight approx 22g. Cross is 4.5 cm wide and tall. Cross has the date 1813 on the reverse lower arm and the date 1939 on the front lower arm under an oakleaf spray display. Ribbon is genuine with no flourescent glow under UV light. Ribbon length approx 14 cm. Ribbon ring has some silvering and is non maker marked. Purchased from a militaria dealer as genuine a number of years ago. Item will be posted Royal Mail Special Delivery with tracking and compensation cover for loss.
