Description: A circa 1910 small oil on canvas landscape of a forest pond, signed at lower right "O. Sch". This 3 1/2" by 5 1/2" work (9 1/2" by 11 1/2" framed) came from a local family of German heritage. Their art, some of which I acquired, came with the family from the old country. This work has some condition issues, as the canvas over the decades has buckled, with sharp horizontal roughly parallel "ridges" now apparent, as well as craquelure. The canvas was laid years ago on a panel and evidently it has raised up from that panel in this fashion. The work remains interesting, however, and the original early 20th century style frame is definitely German so might well be the original.
