Description: Outstanding German Bavaria Napoleonic Officer's Sword. Made by Schimmelbusch & Sohn of Solingen, the company was established in 1789 and is well known for the production of high-end swords. Any Napoleonic officer's sword is hard to find in this condition, but it would be impossible to find another Bavarian sword like this one. This sword is part of a collection brought back from Germany by a high-ranking official of the American occupation administration who was stationed in Germany from 1945 to 1949. The sword is in excellent condition for its age except for a few dings on the scabbard at the end, unsharpened blade, no parts wiggling. Most of the gold and blue remained intact. The black horn handle is strong and durable, with the triple wires intact. Please see my other knives, swords and bayonets.
